Pear VC

Pre-seed and seed specialists

States plainly that it specialises in pre-seed and seed. Runs several named founder programmes, including Dorm for student founders, and Female Founders Circles and Persian Founders Circles.

Criteria: Offers named founder services in talent and recruiting, fundraising, go-to-market, and public relations and marketing. Publishes no check size, no fund size and no application route on its homepage, and does not enumerate its verticals there.

What this means for your pitchThe programmes are the door. For a student or a first-time founder without a network, a named circle or the Dorm programme is a far more realistic entry point than a cold approach to the fund, and it costs an application rather than an introduction.

Check sizes, fund size and vertical focus are not published on the firm's homepage.
