Redpoint Ventures

Founded 1999 · Menlo Park and San Francisco · Seed, early, growth

States it has partnered with visionary founders since 1999, backing over 578 companies including Snowflake, Twilio, Stripe, HashiCorp and Ramp.

Criteria: Invests across seed, early and growth phases, with a pronounced cloud and infrastructure software practice. Publishes the annual InfraRed Report and the InfraRed 100 list, plus a cloud infrastructure index built with Nasdaq. Their published analysis states that median free cash flow margin across the infrastructure software cohort is 20 percent, a record high, that all InfraRed companies are multi-product, and that Series B and C AI deals run about 40 percent more expensive than non-AI ones. Stated guidance: maximise your addressable market, expect the first product to be modest but build toward a platform, and converge toward roughly 40 on the rule of 40 by IPO.

What this means for your pitchIf you build infrastructure or developer software, the InfraRed Report is effectively their published diligence framework. Note their own warning too: a premium AI valuation today sets the growth bar you must clear tomorrow.
